So who are we?

We are a tight knit team who are a bunch of Matcha and everything Japanese enthusiasts. We are based in the UK. In 2016 we travelled to Japan to source the best of the best Matcha green Tea. After we visit many mountains, hills and farms, we discovered the perfect Matcha Tea in Kagoshima, Kyushu province in Japan, which is organic full and through. From the growing to the harvesting to the milling.

Although Uji has been known for good quality matcha tea, we found that even the premium grade in this region still has some astringency which means bitterness. We wanted that perfected sweet flavour with distinct lack of bitterness whilst retaining the full aroma and green umami colour. Even our everyday grade matcha that we found was perfect quality.

So why are we so obsessed with Matcha? As everybody knows Coffee is probably the most drunk beverage in the world after water. We want to share an alterative to coffee without the side effects but the alertness of coffee. Some people have never even heard of Matcha, and we want to share this heavenly drink on earth. Once you get a taste of our sweet matcha it will be hard to drink another brand! As you have already noticed our matcha packaging is not cheap quality. We pack our premium and everyday grade in thick aluminium cans which are a unique design and unique only to mikamatcha, for freshness and 100% customer satisfaction.
