NEXT STEP
Boil some water, preferably bottled water for the perfect tasting matcha. Good quality matcha powder needs good quality water.
Add 5ml or half a tsp of matcha green tea powder in to your matcha bowl (chawan)
Add a tad bit of warm water to the matcha and whisk with your bamboo whisk. Whisk until dissolved and no clumps and the water and matcha is a nice consistency.
Allow the boiling water to cool for a while. It is not advised to use boiling boiling water with matcha as it can change the flavour. Pour in gently and whisk in with bamboo whisk in a forward and backward motion (VERY FAST) to make extra frothy.
Add sweetener or drink plain
Enjoy!
This tasty beverage can be taken cold too with the same steps above or can be mixed with coconut milk, oat milk, or dairy milk if you choose to make a cold latte. Check our recipes page here for more.
HOW TO MAKE MATCHA LATTE
1 teaspoon of Mika matcha tea powder
1 teaspoon of honey, maple syrup, or another sweetener of your choice
250ml of Oat milk or something alike
Method
STEP 1
Put the matcha tea powder and sweetener into the matcha chawan bowl, pour in 1 tbsp of semi-boiled water (not piping hot), and stir to a thick paste.
STEP 2
Heat the Oat milk until steaming (if you want it warm), then whisk it in with a Mikamatcha bamboo whisk to get that perfect froth. The trick is not circular motions when mixing but back and forth is a better method. Let the milk infuse with the Matcha ensuring no clumps.
